Pakistan Secure 2-0 Lead with Strong Win Over Sri Lanka

Pakistan claimed a strong 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series after defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the second game. The match, which became an exciting chapter in the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka second ODI, saw Pakistan chase a target of 289 runs with confidence and control. Their batting lineup showed calmness throughout the innings, helping the team secure the win one over before the end.

Sri Lanka had scored 288 runs for the loss of eight wickets after being asked to bat first. Their start was shaky as they lost four wickets for just 98 runs. However, Samarawickrama and Janith Liyanage added 61 important runs to stabilize the innings. Samarawickrama made 42 before getting out, giving Sri Lanka some momentum.

Liyanage continued to play a strong innings and scored 54 runs. He also shared a 73-run partnership with Kusal Mendis, who added 44 runs. In the final overs, Wanindu Hasaranga played an aggressive knock of 37 not out, helping Sri Lanka finish with a competitive total on the board.

Pakistan’s bowlers performed well, with Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf taking three wickets each. For this match, Salman Ali Agha led the team as captain because Shaheen Shah Afridi was unwell and could not join the playing XI. Mohammad Wasim Jr. was included in the team to replace him.

During the chase, Pakistan’s batting was solid. Babar Azam led from the front with a brilliant century, while Fakhar Zaman scored 78 and Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 51. Their steady approach ensured Pakistan reached the target in the 49th over, sealing the match and strengthening the result of the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka second ODI.
